Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, anxiety, or major life changes? There comes a time when we need some help to cope with many of life’s challenges. My name is Larry Zolman and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Open Door Family Counseling located in Jackson Michigan. I have over 25 years of experience treating children, adolescents and adults for issues such as ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, PTSD, Major Depressive Disorders, panic and anxiety. My staff and I can help guide you through the many obstacles you may face. Our goal is to help you or your family by providing effective solution based psychotherapy.

All About Therapy

Our philosophy of therapy is solution based. We help you identify problems you want to work on and possible solutions. We do not tell you what to do but we do help you identify choices. Possible solutions may be learning new skills, changing the way you think, letting go of past events or setting new goals.

Services We Offer

We offers services to the whole family including children, adolescents, adults, couples and family therapy.

Adult individual therapy

We offer Solution Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy for the treatment of stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression and interpersonal difficulties. We also offer insight oriented depth psychotherapy for individuals looking for deeper insight into their problems. This type of therapy may utilize techniques from an Internal Family Systems approach.

Family Therapy

Family therapy involves identifying the dynamics present in the family system and helping the family identify changes that can be made to the system which lead to better communication, less yelling and a closer connection.

Child Therapy

Larry Zolman, LPC has many years of experience working with children and adolescents with Anxiety, OCD, Disruptive behavior disorders, ADHD and Autism. Larry is also available as a behavioral consultant to schools, the courts and residential facilities.

EMDR

EMDR is an evidence based therapy for the treatment of trauma in children, adolescents and adults. It can address the after effects of child abuse, rape, interpersonal violence, war and other traumatic events.

Couples Therapy

We provide couples counseling utilizing techniques for behavioral therapy and from the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman of the Gottman institute. This service may be covered by insurance or is available as fee for service.

Autism and Developmental Disability Services

Larry Zolman, LPC provides behavioral analysis services for individuals with Autism and Developmental Disabilities. He can also provide individual therapy for such individuals upon request.
